Spring has finally arrived and we will soon be shedding the layers. It also means that we will be updating or upgrading our eyewear. Sunglasses are one of my favorite accessories.
Sunglasses are are the easiest and simplest way to enhance your everyday look. However, choosing the right pair of sunglasses for your face shape can be a challenge. There are designers who design some killer frames that will enhance your facial features, and there are some designers and frames that…don’t. When you’re shopping for sunglasses you have to know which ones are right for you.
First, you’ll have to figure out whether your face is round, oval, heart or square shaped. If you have trouble deciding this guide will help you find the right pair of sunglasses.
Outline Your Face
You’ll need a mirror and a bar of soap or dry eraser maker. Ensure any hair around your face is pulled back. Trace the outline of your face on the mirror.
Find Your Face
Look at the outline on the mirror. The outline provides you with a visual making it easy to determine the shape of your face. (Sunglass Warehouse)

HEART: Retro Square, Cat Eye or Sport
The narrowest point of a heart-shaped face is at the jawline. Any frames that are wider on the top than they are on the bottom work well.
ROUND: Retro Square, Cat Eye or Square
A round face is widest across the cheekbones and narrows some at the forehead and jawline. Oversized, rectangular, and angular frames set off roundness.
OVAL: Retro Square, Aviator or Oversized
An oval face is longer than it is wide. You can pull off any round or square frame. Keep proportion in mind, and try not to go too big or too small for your face.
SQUARE: Round, Aviator or Shield
This face has a strong jaw, wide forehead, and wide cheekbones. To soften these features, choose sunnies with soft lines or rimless edges.
Hopefully you’ve found the right shape frame for your face and are ready to go shopping.
