When you are feeling a little patriotic and in need of a brief history then Philadelphia, PA is the place to be. Filled with historical monuments and amazing historical buildings still intact from the time that America was born; yes, Philadelphia is rich in culture and history, but it is also an amazing place to shop for men’s clothing. Right in the heart of Center City, Philadelphia has a luxury shopping area that is filled with amazing boutiques, delicious eateries and awesome places to get that luxury treatment that everyone deserves.

So where do men go when it comes to shopping, sipping and luxuriating in the City of Brotherly Love? We wanted to get an expert’s opinion so we got our personal guide Ursula, who is a personal stylist, well known for her array of customers. She gave us the inside scoop on some of her favorite places to shop, where to get a bite to eat, and where to hang out with friends or to meet new and interesting people.

Gentleman Grooming

The Art of Shaving (1528 Walnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19102) – I’m a huge fan of a traditional shave and great products. The barber and staff there are very knowledgeable and able to give helpful tips on any skin type. They also have amazing shaving kits that are great gifts. I’ve given them to my clients and they’ve been hooked ever since.

The Rittenhouse Spa & Club Men’s Grooming (210 West Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19103) – This place is for the guy who wants to treat himself to luxury. Not only do they offer fantastic treatments, the rooftop lounge is perfection for the summer months and the spa packages can include a dip in their beautiful pool.

Shop ‘til You Drop

Ursula Styles Me – Located in the historical Old City, her showroom is where clients get the ultimate custom styling and shopping experience under one roof. “Custom” was always associated with the upper echelon of society. Well not any longer. Custom menswear is now accessible for the gentleman who simply wants to look and feel really good in his clothes. Her clients are treated like royalty as they choose through a selection of fabrics and styles that will be made-to-measure without breaking the bank.

Accentuating Your Style

Goorin Bros. Hat Shop (1427 Walnut Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19102) – They have an amazing array of hats that fit almost any occasion.

*Art in the Age (116 North 3rd street Philadelphia, PA 19106) – This is the perfect place to find some of the best accessories that are American, rugged, and very stylish. From bow ties to pocket squares, you can find almost anything that fits your style. They also have amazing tote bags and backpacks.

Stylish Shoes

Allen Edmonds (1736 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19103) – They’re a high-end quality designer with a knack for classic men’s dress shoes; like your oxfords or wingtips, but also modernized casual versions. The Strandmok 2.0 Suede shoes are a favorite amongst Ursula’s clients.

Sweet and Savory Eats

El Vez (121 S. 13th Street Philadelphia, PA 19107) – This is Ursula’s go-to place when she wants atmosphere, drinks and food. The frozen blood-orange gets you ‘right’ every time; paired with the Open-Faced Shrimp Quesadilla. And they have some of the best fresh guacamole in town.

Valanni (1229 Spruce Street Philadelphia, PA 19107) – This place has a great happy hour and their food is delish. I love Valanni because they’re always introducing something new to their menu or specials. One of Ursula’s favorite tasties is their lobster & crab mac & cheese– it’s to die for.

Be sure to visit Philly soon to catch the amazing Summer sales that the boutiques have to offer.
