Affirmations are specific positive statements that help you to overcome self-sabotaging negative thoughts. The statements can help promote positive change in your life to achieve your goals. They help you visualize, and believe in what you are affirming to yourself.  The words have power, so it’s not just saying the words but believing in your mind and heart what you are saying.  You have to feel the words with every aspect of your being and make a commitment.  Affirmations will help you to make positive changes to your life and career, primarily the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment.

As part of my Spiritual practice, I  commit myself to a daily ritual of positive affirmation each morning, despite the challenges that might be going on in my world.  Negative statements have no place in the power of affirmation. The words create energy and power so we have to choose them wisely.

Affirmations have an amazing effect on your health and well-being. They help to increase your awareness of your thoughts and words, making it easier to recognize the negative thoughts that hold you back. They also focus your energy on the things you desire and want to achieve. Affirmations help to create an abundance mindset.  When you begin with a positive affirmation, what is actually possible, a whole world will open up to you. Also, affirmations help to make major shifts in your life to strengthen the connection between your unconscious and conscious mind.  Using your emotion is important when you are practicing your affirmations because it will have a more lasting effect on your mind.

When you begin your affirmations they should be in the “First Person.”  For example, begin with the “I” or “I Am” which turns your affirmations into statements of identity.  As part of my Spiritual practice the “I Am” identity statements are powerful motivators for self-change.  The more you strengthen this connection, the more resilient you will be when difficult or challenging circumstances appear in your life.

It’s important to write your own positive affirmations because it speaks to your deepest desires and using specific words and phrases that resonate with you personally.  An app called “Unique Daily Affirmation,” is a creative affirmation tool that helps you succeed in your endeavors, bring you out from under the clouds. Another app called “Affirmable” lets you create your own affirmations and work with them every day.

Some examples of Positive Affirmations:

  • I  am Blessed, my possibilities are endless
  • I am healthy, wealthy and wise
  • I am Strong in Mind, Body and Spirit
  • I Believe in Myself
  • I am Capable of Whatever I Set my Mind to

The power of positive affirmations will make a change in your life. Say your affirmations over and over throughout the day. Whenever a negative thought appears in your mind, replace it with a positive affirmation.
