When it comes to sex many of us understand and practice safe sex, however, our younger generation is experimenting more and more with sex, but due to the lack of sexual education, may be jeopardizing their health. I stumbled across a website designed for and curated by a younger generation.
The website sexetc.org is a fascinating website The mission of the website is to improve sexual health and knowledge across the country. Each year 5 million young people visit the website, and over 45,000 read their online publication to get reliable and accurate sexual health information.
Not only do I believe it’s a powerful and necessary website for our young adults, but it’s also educational for us of a particular age or can be useful to parents uncomfortable discussing sex.
It’s funny, I was going through one of their quizzes on how to properly put on a condom, needless to say, I did get one or two steps wrong. I believe that’s a great indication that the website is useful to all.
I found the condom quiz to be informative and re-learned a few things I’ve taken for granted for example:
1. Always check the expiration date of the condom (something I can honestly say I forget to do).
2. Carefully remove the condom from the penis making sure none of the semen drips out tying a knot to avoid semen from escaping. Some may not agree with that, however, it’s a smarter practice than simply throwing it away.
Do you know how to properly put on a condom? If not, I would head over to the website and take the condom quiz and test your knowledge.
